Woof Scarf - Meet the artist

What a treat to have the opportunity to work with the talented artist Claire Fletcher and bring to life her wonderful illustrations of dogs on this scarf design. Claire studied graphic design and illustration at Central School of art, Kensignton University and the Royal College of Art. She co-founded and is the director of Made in Hastings, a shop selling locally sourced  gifts and artwork in England. Special Project Completed

This Spring we worked with the artist Frances Liscio on a scarf for the Montclair Art Museum. 20% of all sales go to support this fine arts institution. We have more projects in the works for other upcoming events and these collaborations go to the heart of what we are all about -  creating scarves that give in all different ways.

Scarf School Tip # 1

Look out…big color trend coming our way is yellow. It's great as an accent piece to add zing to your basics. By combining a color that is unexpected to your wardrobe you can be trendy and still keep it lighthearted and fun. And the great thing I tell all our customers when it comes to how to wear your scarves…the messier the better. There is no right or correct way to wear a scarf…get creative…find your own signature style and smile, sunshine!

Inspired by her Window Wall series, we have printed three different color ways interpreting the collection. The collaboration title, "Landscape of Mind", is printed on the scarves. Each vertical and horizontal swath of color represents the views looking out from ancient castle slits.

Come meet the artist, Leslie Ford and scarf designer, Anne Liedtka to view the original works and Archivie's wearable interpretation. November 8th from 1-4pm at the annual Artist's Studio Tour. Located in Manufacturer's Village in East Orange, NJ.
